Finally, Raaust caught it. A small roe deer, a young buck by the look of it. HE only had two tines on his proud antlers. He had strayed from the herd, grazing farther off. Raaust made eye contact with Zephyr, as if to ask. That one?

Zephyr dipped her head slightly in agreement, the wind was blowing to the west and so blowing there scent away from the dear thus making what they were going to attempt easier.
She dropped her body low to the ground though waited for Raaust to make the first move.

Raaust crept slightly north, to the right of the deer, try to separate it from the herd more. He made a diliberate rustling. The herd bolted.
With a snarl, Raaust lept, fully severing the small buck from the pack.

Zephyr also leaped out, snarling viciously startling the young buck enough for it to recklessly bolt towards Raaust.Foolish animal. "It's all yours Raaust!" she hollered, changeing her tense stance into a more relaxed one.

The bloodlust was on him, and all he could see was red. Snarling, he leapt for the buck throat, nad the deer didn;t bvothering to fight anymore. It's life draining through the gash through it's windpipe, the buck sank gracelessly to the ground. Shivering, caught in the throughs of death, its eyes conected with Raaust's. Soft eyes, deep mahogany and intelligent. The light bled from its large brown eyes as the breath slipped from its body. The deer lay still.
Raaust trembled slightly. He had never felt such a pain before- he had never felt much of anything. Never, in what fleeting shards of past he could summon, had he watching a living form die to sustain him. He suddenly felt horrible, staring at the dead deer, and he knew the bloodlust was gone.
Tail lowered slightly, he whined softly to humself as he nosed the carcass towards the other wolf.

Zephyr watched the other wolf kill the dear, she could have done it herself but... How odd the other wolf seemed to dislike the animals death, she didn't like killing herself but she did what she must to survive as all do.
She hoped he was ok, she saw him push the dear to her but ignored it... it could wait. Not like it was going anywhere anyway. "Raaust what's wrong." She sat herself down patiently in wait for response.

Raaust smiled a small, sad smile. "I don't think I'm hungry any more." He said softly. :but there is plenty for you."
In truth, the roan red wolf was desperately hungry, But the deer in front of his nose didn't seem appetizing at all. He sniffed the carcass again, but all he could smell was fresh meat and bloodied flesh. There was nothing there that seemed to be able to sustain him. Had he been human, he would have inconspicuously pinched his nose to block the terrible scent. What had once smelled like food, now only smelled of death.

Zephyr thought for a moment... how odd wolves ate meat it's what the did, what the needed. For a wolf not to want to eat meat is like for a wolf not to be a wolf. She stayed sat where she was keeping both eyes on Raaust.
"I won't eat till you do." She finally said. Yes she was hungry but she was sure she would be ok for a few more days should it be necessary.

Seeing as how Raaust wouldn't want to be impoliete and refuse, (And he could hear Zephyr's stomach audibly growling), He reached down and took a hesitat bite. Blood filled his mouth, but he swallowed anyways. He finished a whole haunch until he deemed it nessasary to stop. Raaust could only fully comprehend, now, how strange this was. Hunger no longer clawed at his from within, and it no longer masked his thoughts in an odd haze.
The RedWolf sat, and nose the body towards the other wolf insistantly.
"I have eaten, and now you must." He smiled happily.

Zephyr sat down under a tree watching the other wolf eat, it had worked that always seemed to get another to eat. For a time she turned her head away and started to clean herself, something she did regularly. Though stopped when she heard his voice. "I have eaten, and now you must." He had a smile on his face so she presumed him to be happy.
She got up and trotted to the carcase, dipping her head she been to tear at it hungrily. At the speed she was going it didn't take long for her to become sated and once she was she backed off and sat down, cleaning herself once more. "So what now?" She asked when finished.

"now, we search for a pack..."
He looked around, the smile fading from his muzzle. All around them, the meadow was horribly quite. not a sound invaded the quite treetops. It was deathly silent, and Raaust had to cough to break that presing, ominous cloud of quite.

Zephyr wagged her tail at his comment and bounced ahead, now she was board and now she wanted to play. "Come on then I'll race you." She stood waiting for response, though the energy and excitement in her felt like it would burst out.

Raaust laughed, and though the rashional part of him knew that now was not the tme for games, the stress had him bouncing along beside her, caught in the wonderful innocence of it all. He found that he couldn't slow his pounding heart as he counted down 'til start.
"3...2...1..." He paused and then yelled "Go!"

Zephyr kicked her legs out and began to run, fast as she could. She wasn't overly built for speed but she was managing well enough. She had no idea which direction she was going or even where she was going, not that she overly cared at the moment. Still running she lifted her head and loosed a howl of pure joy. She wasn't lonely and nor was she hungry, she was having fun.

Raaust laughed in exhileration as the wind played with the fur on his face. His scruffy muzzle raised to the sky, he listened to Zephyr's howl and joined in. Bass and treble, They ran together, Neither caring where they were going, nor who they woudl meet; They were free as the wind that nipped at their heels.
