The hours were creeping on into the night when Siri finally reached Samhain packlands; home. But she wasn't alone as she had brought another, a packless male and possible new addition to the pack. She stopped at the border and howled for Fell, knowing not to let the stranger become familur with the territory. While she of no current rankings could not make any decisions like this, Fell could as Alpha.

Raaust paused at the packland borders, unsure is he should follow the female in or not. When she continued on, he followed. the area was strange, the earth under his padssoft and yet terribly coarse at patches. He sniffed inconspiciously at the ground to get the pack land scent as fully into his head as possible. The scent tags were strong and fresh.
raaust watched as the female howled the Alpha forwards.

((seems like Fell is still having computer troubles))
Siri waited, vigilent and on her feet... but after a few mintues the Alpha had still not come. This wasn't like her, something more important must be consuming her time. But where did that leave her and Raaust? Refusing to let this stop her, Siri would just have to take matters into her own hands.
"I may sound like I'm ignoring ranks, but in the Alpha's absence I'm going to take full responsibility in accepting you into the pack. Call it a 'probation' if you will."

"I'm honored." Raaust's muzzle crinkled. "Though I wouldn't want to get you into much trouble..." He smiled obligingly, anyways.
"Where do we sleep?"

She smiled, "Don't worry about me, Fell was warned that I may challenge her athority from time to time. And with her not answering my call what else are we supposed to do." There was still so much to do to settle the new comer though, a duty she guessed she must forfill. "We sleep at the Den, a cave system so there's plenty of room. I also think your the only male in the pack so far."

"Should I be pleasantly surprised?" Raaust laughed as he followed Siri to the Cave. His paws fell in time with hers, a staccato that easily overuled the background noises. the fluttering of grass in the sharp wind... He sighed quitely.
"There aren't any hostile packmembers that I should worry about...?" His statement morphed into a question near the end. ((He had suceeded in confusing himself, and Larka, the poor author of this post))

"Well except for Fell if she's angry with me when she returns, there's no one in need of mention." Siri seemed unconcerned though and never faulted in step. She would defend his pack right and if that ment a beating and exile then so be it. He on the other hand, may or may not be excused from the same fate as she. Only time would tell.
A small rocky crevass in a cliff side gave the only suggestion of the maze within, but there wasn't much of a scent here. No one slept within...

Raaust padded into the samll space curiously. Tail raised slightly, he nosed at the ground, picking up a tale of many pawprints and a few querrals. He raised his head to look at The other wolf.
"Are there designated sleeping areas, or is it relativly free?"

"It's relitively free, but the pack normally stuck close together incase we should risk loosing what we have." Siri was becoming a little worried, had they gone and left her alone? It seemed unlikely that she had become the last Samhain, and she wasn't as long as Raaust stayed.

"What we have? As in , wolves?" Raaust asked curiously. "You don't have too many enemies, do you?"
His brown-red ears flisked uncomfortably in his sudden rush of paranoia. Had the forest suddenly become alot darker, or was there really just shadowy wolves that waited under every tree? He shivered, walking a few pawsteps closer to Siri. If there was some kind of trap waiting to be sprung, then he wanted to be as close to possible to any one who could help. Especially since he had completely forgotten how to fight.

"We have no definate ememies, but if we dont stand our grounds then other packs would swallow our territory and expand their own. As long as we remain, our bounderies are safe." Siri kept serious, cause the treat was still real. Dangerous, no, but still a threat. This was their home, they lived here and they couldn't let it slip away.
She looked over at him, sensing his fear so she tried to relax herself. "There is no need to worry, and we have each other's back. We might as well try to get some sleep." She took the first few steps into the cave, not too far, only enough to emerse herself in darkness before settling down on the soft dirt floor.

Raaust sank down beside her, aware of the foreign scents thathad wrapped themselve around his muzle. Hed resting on his red paws and eyes averted to the stars, he whimpered osftly to himself.

"Are you frightened?" Siri asked, her voice in a sudden softer tone. It might have been her weariness, or her worry. She herself seemed unfamiliur with fear, but she took sympathy and care in others emotions. Soemthing she seemed to have little in general.

Raaust shifted. "I suppose that I am, but I may just call myself a fool if I weren't. I woke with no memory... What if I was always a loner, or a killer?" He asked, words slowing down enar the and due to exhaustion. His lithe frame slumped as the energy drained from him, though his worries were still present. He oculdn't seem to shake them- it was as though they clung to his fur like mud, wheighing him down.

The grey wolfess thought hard for a few moments. Did it matter that he was a killer, or the most idiotic thing on four paws. He seemed perfectly sociable now, only that mattered. "Your perfectly fine the way you are, does your past matter now that your starting a new life for your new self?"
It was getting late, they should be sleeping. Tomorrow she would try hunting with her new packmate. "Just sleep on it, you might feel better about it in the morning."
