[glow=silver,2,300]the lone figure struggled through the torrential rain. wind whipped thick silver fur around a lean, muscular frame; long black lashes blinked droplets away from clear blue eyes. the silver irises in the center of those sky-blue eyes expanded slightly as an unseen sun sank below the horizon. a mournful "whuff" escaped the solitary creature's long muzzle, the scarred nose quivering slightly. she was hungry, so hungry; cold, so cold; wet, so wet, which only made her cold body shake more. she was so lonely... but at least she wasn't thirsty. the wolf felt the driving rain begin to lessen. a look of relief crossed her honest features as the howling wind dropped to a strong breeze. then she realized she was not in the open anymore. she had come to the woodland at last. with a slow sigh of gratitude, she shook off the lingering droplets and crept underneath a fallen log. an overturned rock-probably by a badger or some sort of creature like that-further protected her. thus sheltered, the female wolf took in her surroundings. a glade of sort sort. a pool rested in the center, and thick oak trees guarded most of it. she hunched further in her makeshift den as the scent of another wolf hit her senses. a wavering howl escaped her muzzle before she realized it, then she threw herself into the act. the moon rose, nearly full, as the thick cloud cover began to clear. her deep, throaty howl wove a song of despair, loneliness, and rejection; along with the brighter notes of hope and acceptance. accept me...the dreamer, blind.seer. her howl ended abruptly, in a harsh coughing fit. the sickness she had had as a pup had never really left her, just appeared in the form of a cough instead of a terrible weakness.[/glow]

R o s t y n A white shaped trudged through the darkness of the storm, rain crashing down upon him. He was drenched, having been caught in the downpour while headed to the dens. His paws plodded heavily along the muddy ground, their imprints washed away almost immediately by the torrental rainfall. And just as he reached the shelter of the dens, it all stopped. The rain no longer fell in torrents against the ground and the clouds began to clear to show the moon in the night sky. And above it all the sound of a howl entered his ears, singing the song of lonliness. The song of one who wished acceptance into a pack.
With a weary sigh he turned and pushed himself forward to the call. His head was never held high, and his posture was low. If his scent did not cover the borders of the land no one would recognize him as the alpha of the non-exisitent pack that resided here.
The stranger's scent managed to flood his nostrils through the smell of the wet earth and he followed it, his eyes dully searching in front of him. It was not difficult to spot the stranger; she was silver in color, standing out in the dark lands. He stopped when he was only a yard from her lone figure, his eyes studying her searchingly. Finally he spoke, his voice coming out in soft, rasping tones. "Your name, please, and your reason for coming here," he ordered the wolf, though not in an unknind way.

[glow=silver,2,300]she heard a voice and lowered her muzzle in respect: any wolf who resided in packlands instead of the no-wolf's lands was of higher stature than herself. "my name? blind seer," she intoned quietly. "my reason? i have need of a home." intelligence resided in the light blue eyes that narrowed questioningly. her silver pupils contracted to pinpoints as a ray of bright moonlight passed across her unkempt face; then it was swept away by a shadow and they expanded again. "i presume you belong to the pack that inhabits these lands. may i ask your name?" she asked, a twitch of her limp tail sending a small shower of shining droplets onto the soaked earth beside her temporary shelter. remembering that she was still underneath it, she stood and padded slowly out of it. "i wish to join. i can fight, i can hunt; i only question orders when i don't know the reasoning behind them." blind seer jerked her muzzle up slightly, defiantly. "i am not blind, not matter my name. my eyes are perfectly fine-no matter their color. i am not weak-unless you count my cough." her prideful stance was dropped as a harsh coughhing burst from her chest. she heaved a clear breath before blinking. a slight wave of sadness washed over her and her scarred nose twitched as she tried to fight it down again. the next full moon, she would give in and howl her pain away; until then, she had to win every battle she fought against her past. she needed a home, though, to make sure that she had a place to stay. she needed a pack to reside in, so that she would never be alone.[/glow]

[glow=teal,2,300]"very well. i accept your terms, if you will accept mine." she spoke this quietly, a slight rasp to her voice indicating that she was not quite recovered from the hard coughing bout. "i am called blind seer because of my strange eyes. blue, you see, with silver pupils; usually blue-eyed wolves are blind. my old pack did not believe me when i told them i was not blind." contempt was also edging her voice; she had heard the contempt or dislike lining the other wolf's but ignored it. "i will not tolerate any wolf making a joke out of my strange eyes or treating me as if i am different. i will not accept any other wolf-except you-trying to dominate me. i will not ever join the enemy of a pack i used to belong to. i will, however, be loyal to the pack until i am no longer required to be. i will obey all orders that seem reasonable-not including ones to attack any member of the pack or fight dishonorably. i have no wish to join a pack that would fight with tricks or attack from behind. if your pack does this, say so now and i will leave." she paused, narrowing her eyes slightly. "i will only...agree to befriend male wolves...if i like them and i feel prepared for such a relationship. i will not...befriend...male wolves without agreement from you-the alpha-and myself." she spoke carefully;; she was treading on dangerous grounds. in fact, she intended to never "befriend male wolves" and have pups. ever. in her lifetime or the next, if there was a next. "those are my terms. if you disagree, tell me so and i will leave." she lifted her own head, not allowing herself to back down before this pack's alpha male. "do not worry about me attacking your pack."[/glow]

[ooc] Once again, sorry for the very long wait. I've been so incredibly stressed lately.
[ic]
R o s t y n "Though you may accept my terms, I will accept yours only if they comply with mine," he said coldly. He didin't like it when other asked that he accept his terms. He was the alpha - his terms would stand here, not a strangers. "I will address everything that you said," he stated clearly as she finished speaking, at long last. "No wolf here will make a joke of your eyes - there is nothing about them that appears funny in any way. However, if you carry a low position then it is your duty to show respect over those of higher rank, whether they be me or someone else. If they show dominance over you, you will accept that and not challenge unless I say that you can." His voice was firm and final; everything that he said now were the laws that she would have to follow while staying on his packlands. Disobedience was not something that he would tolerate here. "It is good that you intend to be loyal here. I demand loyalty. However, this also means that you will fight how I tell you to, and attack who I say to attack. You may always question my orders, however, and I will quickly give you a good reason for them." Already he was thinking of reasons that he might have his pack attack one of their own, or to fight dishonorably. He doubted that the second one would ever happen, but if a memeber commited something like treason then he would have the pack attack them.
"I do not think that you have to worry about dishonorable fighting, unless our survival is on the line." He stated at last, confirming that he did not believe much is dishonorable fighting, but that he would take such actions if he thought it necessary. Her next words made him widen his eyes a little. This was an interesting little talk now. But this matter need not come up, in all reality. "You will not have to 'befriend' a male wolf unless you want to - such a decision is entirely up to you, and I will have no say in the matter. That is your matter, not mine, nor the pack's," he answered her. His voice was calm and kind this time - from what he could discern from her voice, she wasn't to keen on 'befriending' male wolves at all, and he wasn't about to force that on her. Why be so cruel?
"You have heard my terms and my response to your terms. Decide if you want to stay now."

[glow=silver,2,300]"thank you. i believe i will stay, if you would allow it." she glanced around, taking in with new eyes what her new home looked like. blind seer then dipped her head lower, in respect of her new alpha, and stared at the log she had been sheltering in only moments before. her light blue gaze inspected in carefully and only then noticed a slight drip from a pool of collected water near the entrance. she had been lucky it had not hit her with the large droplets it freed now. she felt hunger squeeze her midriff and blinked in surprise; had it been that long since she ate? a slight rumble from her belly confirmed it and she allowed a small, sheepish smirk to flit across her features before turning her face immovable again. she had a request to make-although she was used to hunting whenever she wanted-but he swallowed her hunger and instead lowered her nose to the ground, inhaling the scents that had passed by recently. a rabbit was nearby; but as she considered tht prospect, she heard a soft thump: it burst out of a bush and away, speeding rapidly across the ground until it disappeared. oh well, she would eat as the pack did.[/glow]
