The weather had been holding up well recently, only a few scant clouds streaking the otherwise blue sky. Hunting was well and Siri had managed to eat well, despite hunting with and for her new pack. Still, she often roamed lands outside her own homelands as the wonderer inside had get to faid away. Scratching in, around and on top of the boulders that surrounded the wide lake, her grey fur slightly whiter then most of them, she couldn't resist releasing a howl to the wilderness from which expected no reply except for her echo...

Banshee's breath puffed heavily as she bounded through the woods. Leaves were everywhere and the thickness of their layers made her dizzy. Every time her legs pushed her upward, she would quickly disappear once again. She could not wait to get out of this forest. Banshee didn't notice where she was going. Without a sense of direction she would be long lost. Besides an occasional tree to avoid, she had nothing in her path. She watched the floor as it came closer to her every time to make sure she landed perfectly. One more push and this time she landed on stiff ground. Beads of sweat trickled down her pelt, unseen by naked eyes. Her heart pounded like a drum, and she gasped every breath she made. She rested for a moment, then very slowly raised her brow.
Relieved of all distress she wagged her tail without mercy. Her pelt shook with glee and she found herself in a new state of happiness. All until a dreadful tone hit the air. She froze, unaware of the vixen before her. A solitary howl echoed across the water. Banshee stood tall, fearless of what lay in the mere future. She bore her teeth to the scum, but it was too far away to see anyway. She howled back, threateningly.

The returned howl entreeged her, a clear threat in the air. Well this was neutral territory but scuffles were expected to break out from time to time. Siri, thinking about it for a moment thought that this could be fun. Not so much a fight but just to see what kind of wolf had answered her. Sounded like it wasn't all too far west around the lake...
Bounding with an unmissable spring in her strides she made short work of the distence to about the spot she had heard the howl. Panting only lightly from her exurtions her eyes scanned for any life in the vegitation, but as of yet saw none... Her nose to the ground she tried to pick up the scent but found only rabbit and an old deer trail. Ears perked and ever ready for the slightest movement, there was no chance that the returned howl was an echo....

Banshee ducked as she saw the vermin leap across the distance. She watched like an owl in the cover of darkness. It didn't come close enough to Banshee to see anything. She decided that she could finish running the space between them for it. At first she crept low to the ground, but that felt too much like a cat for her to continue. Cats had their ways of being sneaky; they would creep with their tummies low to the ground, almost touching. Their legs would run looking like they were spinning wheels barely attached the body. Two tufts of ears shot straight up, watching every movement of the prey. Banshee came out from the underbrush and exposed her teeth while charging the other wolf. Her fatigue from leaping through the leaves of the forest returned to her. She ignored it as best she could, but her heavy breathing was a dead fast reminder of it. She neared the victim, wishing she had someone else to help her close in on it. In hunts she could always do these things better with someone else to hunt alongside. She drew her claws and aimed for the chest of her enemy.

Sighting her sudden attacker as it burst from the undergrowth, reflex turning her away but was not enough to avoid a clash. Claws raked through her grey furred hide as the attack hit her side, knocking her off her feet with a yelp. Her own teeth bared and she snarled furiously, jaws snapping at her attacker in effort to get a hold while struggling to her feet.
No threat had been declared, this attack had been unprovoked. Nother the less, Siri had to defend herself but she would do more then that. In this scuffle she would come out on top no matter the odds. Strong in her primed youth, her recent exertions given a moment to fade while searching while she could hear her opponent's panting. The odds seemed in her favor...

The vixen caught Banshee's own flesh in her teeth. A small rip under the lip was the consequence. She snarled in aggravation. As the other wolf regained her feet Banshee glared on. Nothing happened. She was confused as to why this wolf didn't want to fight back. Banshee was there clearly threatening the vixen, but it didn't want to fight. Banshee shot her a confused glance. What's the matter with you? She knew this was neutral land, based on the lack of markers, but that didn't mean that wolves were suddenly light hearted. Apparently this one was peaceful. Banshee sighed and relaxed a little, still ready to battle but a little more trusting of the one before her. It might be an omega. She thought. they are not worth fighting anyway. Suddenly she was incredibly ashamed of the scratch this vixen gave her. Don't you want to fight?

No, and I had actually been enjoying my day. But this is certainly interesting Siri rushed her opponent, a grey blur as she put all in her all of her prized attribute. Teeth and claws beared to the fullest, she would not be defeated!
Her personal reputation and credibility was being put on the line, not to mention the Samhain pack might pride themselves on knowing their newest number was an aknowledged fighter. At the moment she was seen as a possible threat to the ranks, a past renegade who had earned her alpha title through leadership and battle. Give it time... she might one day again take her rightful place.
