The first thing that came was sound. There was an odd swishing, as though someone was intent on bending the grass under the winds fury. The grass... it tickled his nose, and he inwardly blinked as he warded off the contemptuous sneeze. The next was feel, and scent. He felt the warm ground beneath his pads and stomach and the telltale ache of his belly- hunger. He could smell the lush grass, still wet with dew and warm soil. There was a dry taste in his mouth, as sweet and yet bitter as dried blood.
The wolf raised his head, pink tongue darting across his cracked black lips. Sharp teeth hid behind those black lips, pointed with killer intent. His hooked claws where as long as his canines, though maybe even deadlier. With a groan, his muscles and bone lifted his slim frame from the ground as blood rushed through him.
Brilliant gold eyes locked on the scene in front of him. It was late summer, by the looks of it, and the leaves on the trees had begun to transform into fiery reds and oranges. birds flitted through the trees encircling the small meadow, and the wolf smiled grimly. The sun had begun to set, The clouds beginning to bruise a dark purple and red. Shafts of crimson and clotted gold shot through the sky in bolts of light. The dying orb of sun burned with a flickering intensity as it finally abandoned the earth, and hid behind the vast hills. The wolf shuddered as cold descended upon the deathly still meadow, as the blushing sky faded to a near black navy blue.

A wisp of grey moved through the meadow almost like a ghost, but she was truely alive. Her solo scouting or possible hunts had taken her far from the packlands of Samhain, unknowingly so till the setting sun had alerted her. A thick wintery coak kept most of the cold off her bones, but that didn't help the faint puffs of mist her breath produced. Once home her pack would be huddled together snuggly to warm their chills, but she had a long way to go till then.
With only one thought in mind, Siri did not take care to watch her footings or move silently over the earth. It was night, she was tired and she just wished to return home...

The wolf's muscles tightened instinctively as another being swept through the meadow. muzzle straight, head bowed slightly, his frame was bent close to the earth in an very un-dominant way. He loped toward the wolf, fighting to remember what he was doing, who he was... anything.
His posture tightened as he caught sight of the other wolf. Red coat rippling, hinting at strong muscles underneath, his tail drooped. Something at the back of his mind was chanting 'Don't be aggressive, Don't be aggressive.'

Halting in her tracks as soon as she heard something approaching, waiting till the male wolf had made himself sighted. It wouldn't have been the first time she was attacked when traveling alone so she was leaving nothing to chance, croached low in defencive readiness. After having held this pose and still no agressive move, she slowly rose to stand proudly. "Who may you be?"

The Wolf hesitated. Who was he...? His mind struggled for a second, before a name bubbled to his lips and spilt into the air around him.
"Raaust" The name was whispered, but seemed loud to the red wolf's ears. He stiffened momentarily at the she-wolf infront of him, and her defensive position seemed more aggressive than he had first seen. But he relaxed, refusing to meet her eyes, opting to keep his own trained on the ground. Speaking to the soil was easier than speaking to another wolf.

There was deffinately no sign of hostility from this wolf, from which she let herself relax. He didn't seem to be able to look her in the eye let alone attack her. Pack life had left her feeling jumpy, it couldn't be healthy but she would have to work around it. "I am Siri, from what pack do you belong? I've never seen you before."

Raaust was thoughtful for a second, and after a minute, he had to admit that he didn't think he had a pack.
"I'm a loner, I suppose." He smiled stiffly, and realized that though the she-wolf in front of his was relaxed, he couldn't find it in himself to do the same. He refused to meet her eyes- rousing anyones fury would not be a smart move on his part.

Siri couldn't help but chuckle, constently reminded of her revolutionary past. But no one but her remembered that anymore. The glory really had burned out, but maybe... No she shouldn't think such dangerous thoughts. Should she fail she would be exiled from her pack. "For goodness sakes! You can look up, I'm not going to jump you nor am I dominating Alpha."

Raaust hesitantly raised his golden eyes, marred with flecks of brown, to hers. He smiled slowly. It felt odd, as if his face muscles had never been streched to this position, but in an odd way it was also liberating.
"What pack do you belong to?" The question was out before his mind allowed it. Raaust clamped his mouth shut tightly. Where had THAT come from?!

She stood her white grey form proudly, slowing her sleek streemline body. "I am proudly of the Samhain pack, lead by our alpha female Fell." It actually wasn't much of a pack just yet, but she would never tell. Should he tell another pack, by accident or other, it could leave them vunerable. She had always fought calculated battles, using sheer numbers and/or wits against her opponent.
"don't you think your rather out in the open for this time of night?"

Raaust cocked his head thoughtfully before responding.
"Open to what? I have no enemies yet, no background to draw from, so what have I too lose, out here under the open stars?"
He asked softly, his bass voice laced with tremors. The crickets chirped merrily to the still-warm air.

"I didn't think I had any emenies either, but that never seemed to protect me from attacks..." It was a wonder that she left the packlands alone anymore. Still, she had risen to meet every challenge head on and never backed down.
"Maybe it's just a pack or gneder thing..." She side steped around him and started back on her path at a walk...

Raaust paused, and a small grin played across his black lips.
"And you will you invite me to join your pack, or shall I beg." Light-heartedness colored the tone. Raaust laughed. He could tell that She was froma smaller pack- A big pack-goer wouldn't be anywhere NEAR as tense. He still wondered if she would take it the wrong way, as jokes tended to do to those so tense... A flash of worry caught his features for a split second.

Siri stopped and turned back to him, covering the few steps seperating them swiftly. Was he serious? Well he was of no pack, and they could use extra paws and jaws for hunting and protection. "I don't think it's my place to say, I would have to take you to see our Alpha..."
Spinning around again she sprinted into the grass and nearly dissappeared. "Well are you going to come or not?!"

Raaust laughed.
"I was teasing, but of caurse I would join the pack if your Alpha deems it alright." He smiled slightly, setting off at a trot towards the female wolf. His tail swished softly as he quickly caught up with the distance she had covered between them.
